Arrived in Romania + 1st day

We now have arrived in Romania

(When we got to Gaesti we got put with a family. I am with 5 other people from Suffolk. the house is massive with lots of rooms, an amazing kitchen. even it’s own gym room.

Tom is staying with 2 other people. I am not sure how many people Chris and Alice are with.

the first day everyone slept for ages. (10ish because we had no sleep the night before). we then had a massive breakfast, before playing basketball a short walk away. it is very hot, do we came back to the house to play monopoly in the shade in the garden. after lunch we went to meet up with everyone from suffolk. we all had to try Romanian dancing. which was confusing. which afterwards we went into the park. When we got home they made a fire and cooked corn-on-the-cob.

Final Post for Jamboree (activities)

we have just got back from the closing ceremony. we are leaving at 3:30am so we have commandeered an activity tent and everyone is trying to get as much sleep as possible. everyone ok, even after the rainshowers during the ceremony.

the music was 2 random swedish bands and EUROPE (band) before a massive firework display. it was good; even in rain

we have a bit more info on Romania,
we will meet the mayor, clean a scout place ?!? and even teach English Lessons!!! 23 people with families, rest in scout hut etc. Malcolm still has not told us who we are with yet.

Thanks for all the comments on the blog, I will keep updating if and when possible.

packing up

now packing up campsite. closing ceremony, then we travel to Romania. there may not be wifi to update the blog for a few days but I have set up automatic messages for travelling times

Swapping and culture day

today it is culture day, I managed to trade my UK daysack for a Bigger Hong Kong one

There are people wearing stereotypical national clothes and food stalls everywhere, we have to wear pink tee shirts and cook baked beans ( neither of them I like!!!)

its been great here and i have a few badges left to swap, not long left now until romania ?!?!?

Camp in camp

I have really enjoyed camp in camp. we travelled on the coach to a small scout campsite ( a bit like herringfleet). we arrived to find another patrol from suffolk. you are not really meant to be with another uk patrol. but 2 busses both went to the same place. our first activity was a choice of sailing, canoeing and fishing. I chose sailing, which was good, but needed more wind. the Swedish were very friendly and offered us burgers, drinks and bread.
I got to sleep in a teepee which was great. the weather is very hot and sunny. After tea we had a campfire and patrols from different countries showed everyone sketches songs and dances. Today we went and did a woodland activity where we followed a trail doing small activities like the team building challenges we tried at the training camps.
There were challenges fir each month of the year.
now on bus heading back to the jamboree site
